According to this article, if you don't have a digital projector, you
won't be able to show any movie in a year or two.

It doesn't surprize me. Guess that will mean the end of film
collectors who acquire discarded copies of movies ..

Sure, but we've been hearing that for the past 15 years.

It's coming and it's coming pretty fast, but exactly when it's coming
nobody really can give honest information on.

I'll say that it's getting harder to get 35mm prints of smaller indy
productions these days.

The revival cinemas will hopefully still stay open as they generally
show their classic films on dvd or 16mm. Few of the classics are
shown in 35mm anyway. In Australia we only have one revival cinema
(Melbourne). The rest of the country have none. Unbelievable but
true.We also only have 2 cinemas capable of screening 70mm.

In the US, 16mm is dead as a presentation format, and it died more than
a decade ago. I don't know of any theatres showing 16mm, and only one
college film club. Pretty much all the revival houses here run 35mm
if they exist at all.
